Last night I made my way back to Brooklyn Bowl for ArpLine‘s record release show. After seeing them at Mercury Lounge with Bear in Heaven last month, I knew I wanted to check them out again. Luckily an event I was shooting for a magazine ended early last night and I was able to get to the venue for all three bands.
I’d never seen Light Asylum, though the 2 or 3 songs I heard were enough to get me pretty interested. Next up was Class Actress, a really great trio I caught last month with Au Revoir Simone (and did portraits with). Their set was dark and great as usual. But the real highlight of the night was ArpLine. Though they struggled with some tech issues early on, they put on a stellar set once again. If you haven’t heard their record, Travel Book, it will soon be one of your favorite things to listen too. It certainly has been for me.
