Freelance Whales Played Webster Hall

Last night at Webster Hall was a great experience. In addition to the headliner, Fanfarlo, pulling out all the stops (those photos later, I have to wait until Spin runs them), opener Freelance Whales lived up to hefty expectations. Having just signed to Frenchkiss Records (who had a crazy holiday party on Wednesday), the quintet has a lot going for them. Their sound is unique and kind of huge, and they’re just so endearing to watch. I caught my first peak of them back in October during their Brooklyn Vegan showcase slot at Pianos, but it wasn’t enough. I expect these guys to go places, so if you haven’t heard them, check them out.
