Yesterday was kind of a surreal day for my photography career. First off, Irving Penn died. At 92 years old he was still showing up photographers 1/3 his age. Amazing man with amazing photos – he will be missed.
Secondly, I shot a gallery opening at Milk Gallery in Chelsea. I didn’t really realize what I was getting into until I got there and realized that the event was not only an opening for, but also a discussion with SAM HASKINS. Love that man and love what he’s done for the fashion photography world. So I got to meet him. If I had a few more jobs lined up this month I would have bought his new book, Fashion Etcetera, and had him sign it, but I couldn’t really swing the $67.50 to buy it. Oh well, at least I got to meet him and express to him how much of an inspiration he is to myself and fellow photographers.
